Welcome!

Hello! My name is Hunter London, my gamertag is Venator and I will be starting to post blogs about controversial gaming topics, tips and tricks in games, Cajun Esports news, and just my overall opinions on something gaming related . For this first blog post I will just be giving a brief background on myself and my gaming career. Also, this is my first time blogging, so if you have any recommendations for me, feel free to let me know!

About me

Again, my name is Hunter London, and I am actually from Houston, TX. I am 23 years old and I am an Informatics major at ULL. I am also involved with the ULL Pride of Acadiana Marching Band. I have been doing marching band for 10 years and have been in music studies for over 14 years. Lastly, I am in the Army reserves.

Pokémon

My History with Competitive gaming goes back to the 5th generation of Pokémon, which changed my outlook on gaming forever. I picked up on it very quickly and was rated top 5 in the state of Texas for some time. My standard team consisted of Politoed, Haxorus, Ferrothorn, Cloyster, and Gengar with the final slot consistently changing, but mostly leaning with Tornadus. Once 6th Gen came out, I took a hiatus that still stands for competitive Pokémon. I picked up league of legends, where I had played casually for several years as I was just getting into College and I wanted to focus on that more.

Super Smash Bros.

Near the end of 2014, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U came out and this re-sparked my ever-lasting love for the series. Although I started with Smash 4 competitively, it wasn’t very long before I picked up Super Smash Bros. Melee as my main competitive smash game. It was a long process, but I became very good at the game, being able to take games off very good players. While I was doing this, I started steadily playing every smash game in the series at a competitive level. My main in smash 64 is fox, melee is falco with a strong pocket fox for certain matchups, brawl which is my worst one, I play falco as well, Project M, which is a mod of Brawl to incorporate the mechanics of melee, I main DK. In Sm4sh, my mains were all over the place, but my best results were with Diddy Kong and Cloud, and now in Smash Ultimate, I am maining Incineroar, with a pocket Palutena.

Other Games

Other games that I briefly played competitively, include World of Warcraft, which I was able to reach top 500 in 2v2 with a feral druid momentarily in the WoD expansion. Call of Duty, which I never played in a proper team, I reached platinum ranking in Black Ops 2 first competitive season, but never played it again, and maintained a top 7k in overall leaderboards from MW2, through Black Ops 2
